School: Sakkarra Girl Friendly School

Age: 15 years, 1 month and 11 days old

Grade: 6th

When I was young, I wanted to go to school but my father refused. He didn’t refuse because of the money but because I was too old for public school admissions. It really hurt.  Then, I joined the Kotab and I learnt the alphabets. One day, on my way home after finishing Kotab, I heard a woman saying that a new school was built for girls who didn’t join school. I was very happy. I ran home and told my dad about the school and he said ok. I was very happy.  So, I told my cousin and she agreed to go with me to the same school. Days passed quickly and I found everything I wished for in that school whether education or friendship. I was taught about my rights as a human. When I was in 6th grade, I got engaged and I had to stay home but I didn’t want to. So, I convinced my dad to allow me to go back to school and finish 6th grade and he agreed to that. So I finished 6th grade and my life was wonderful. I love my school friends so much. They are sisters to me. I was very sad to leave them and stay at home. I wanted to continue my education but I can’t. It was the dream of my life but I’m going to get married. This was my biggest problem; how can I leave my friends, teachers, school and dream?
